Hiking in unspoilt nature with eco-trails and waterfalls and swimming in crystal clear natural river ponds
Dryanovska eco-trail
follows the course of a river. The nearby Bacho Kiro Cave and Dryanovo Monestary contribute to the diversity.
Emen gorge eco-trail
offers breathtaking views of steep cliffs, waterfalls and wildlife in the reserve. Distance from Veliko Tarnovo: 25 km.
Hotnitsa waterfall
Hotnitsa eco-trail
includes the sights of a gorge on the
Horse riding
ride across the mountains, through rivers and open fields, following ancient trails amid beautiful nature.
Orchard Stables in Devetatse organise horse riding.
There is also a stable in Arbanasi.
Quad biking
A 6 km long Quad biking safari trail is located in Arbanassi.
Climbing
Veliko Tarnovo is famous in climbing circles and has several climbing clubs.
Fishing
can be done in the Yantra river or in local reservoirs, bring your own equipment.
Cycling
The Veliko Tarnovo region is popular for mountain biking, bikes can be rented for approximately 10 EUR per day at

is located under Bogart restaurant near Mother Bulgaria square, entrance from the side street.
Ten pin bowling
is located on the ground floor of the Central Mall.

is located in the Central Mall and shown in English with Bulgarian subtitles.
Skiing for beginners
Uzana winter resort
located 22 km from Gabrovo. Skiing for beginners, snowboarding and other winter sports. Mountain top is 1250 meters above the sea level. Steepest slope is 1000 meters long and served by a drag lift.
